Undergound exploration drilling with "Hütte Bohrtechnik".

THYSSEN SCHACHTBAU has acquired a new HBR201 drilling rig from company “Hütte Bohrtechnik” to carry out underground exploration drilling.

This machine was equipped with a protective device by the manufacturer, which provided only limited protection during the horizontal drilling carried out by THYSSEN SCHACHTBAU and made some of the work more difficult.

For this reason, THYSSEN SCHACHTBAU developed its own protective system consisting of a light barrier and a ripcord, which Hütte Bohrtechnik considers to be a CE-compliant equivalent protective equipment which can therefore replace the manufacturer's own protective device.

In addition, the entire system has been certified for work in areas at risk from pit gas.
