Shotcrete robot in action.

The THYSSEN SCHACHTBAU IBERIA team successfully completed several projects for the customer in Portugal in August 2024.

Firstly, two raise-boring shafts were handed over to the customer.

Furthermore, the securing of a third shaft was completed using shotcrete. A special spraying robot (Remote Shaft Lining System, RSLS) was used for this, which enables the remote-controlled application of the shotcrete. The robot is moved along the shaft axis using winch technology and is controlled from above ground.

In addition to being technically and economically successful, the projects were completed without any accidents at work.

All the equipment is now being prepared for other upcoming projects:
  • Herrenknecht RBR400VF raise boring, shaft depth 363 m, diameter 4.2 m
  • Raise boring Wirth HG 160, shaft depth 185 m, diameter 1.8 m
  • Remote Shaft Lining System, shaft depth 320 m, diameter 4.2 m
